Here is where I work!

This is my computer station. You can see my security tag below my name tag. We go to lunch often at the COB (Church Office Building) and I see the most interesting people there.
Oh, they said we can put up pictures of our families in our cubicles so please send me some pictures.

My Assignment

I got my assignment today and have been assigned to the Ordinance Data Management Zone. It's on the 6th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building in the west wing and Sister Sheen say they call it the Celestial 6th. Everyone in my group was excited for me, so I guess it's going to be good. I'll let you know later when I know more of what I'm doing.

Love,

Sister Grandma Saunders

Home Sweet Home - Visitors welcomed as usual

When you come into the apartment the kitchen is straight ahead. If you turn to the left you walk into the living room.

The windows face the north and the rest of the apartment is through the doors by the fridge.

The bedroom theme is blue for the moment. Victoria is bringing the red bedspread up on Saturday.

There is a hall with big closets between the bedroom and the bathroom. The bathroom is fairly roomy too.

On Thursday night, Meghan organized a crêpe party. She brought her friends Rachel, Deb, Katie Staples and Lauren Campbell and Victoria brought her roommate, Karli. We forgot to take pictures but we all had a fun visit.

Diane, Paul and Nancy Garner came by on Saturday morning.

My Mission Group

I am officially a missionary complete with a name tag. They explained to us that we wear our badges on the right instead of the left because we are serving those who are on the other side.

This is our mission group. There are 12 of us which includes three couples and six single sisters. Our mission president , President and Sister Hal Varson (center right couple), and his counsellors are on the back row with Brother and Sister Linder (center left couple).

The three couples are on the left and we are on the right. One lady is from Sheffield, England, another from Hawaii and the rest are from the states. I'm the only Canadian in this small group but I hear that my trainer is Sister Strong from Edmonton. She also lives next door to me.

My first walk on Temple Square

First of all we walk across the street to the Conference Center grounds. Then by this fountain and across the street to Temple Square.

All the flowers are in bloom and it is so beautiful. This is what I get to see every day as I walk to work and back! I am excited to see it at Christmas too.

There are beautiful hanging baskets on the walls.

One last glimpse at the Temple and then across the street to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

Mission started but not accomplished

This is my new apartment in Salt Lake City.

I'm starting my mission today. It is friday, June first and I am off to the orientation luncheon and meetings at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Sister Chris Sheen took me on the short cut through Temple square. It is beautiful here.
